Andy is a contemporary artist based in Yorkshire. Working mainly in oil, he is interested in the visual language of colour form and line.
“Whilst the images I produce are abstract it is inevitable that they are influenced by my experiences of landscapes and places”.
After studying for a B.A. (Hons) in art at the York St john University he moved to Hull where he became a member of the ‘Kingston Art Group’. During this time he completed his M.A. at the University of Humberside, this experience cemented his interest in semiotics.
He moved to his current home in Baildon West Yorkshire in 2002 and since then has sought to produce art that reflect his interest in how a landscape, colour and form affect us emotionally. He often feels at his most creative when he senses that change of light as the seasons change. He feels this most whilst he is outside in the Yorkshire landscape he loves. It is this that he intends to impart into his paintings and mixed media work.
