As a self taught artist and maker, I create pieces that soothe my soul, and have a story behind their creation. My work comes from the heart, and I have spent a lifetime being inspired and influenced by textiles, paper, place, thread, nature, costume, fairytale and ink.
Following a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 2009, my career direction unexpectedly changed . In order to best manage my disability, I found that art and creating became essential to my well being, both physical and emotional. Previously I had always fitted my artistic creativity into personal time. But now my new life involved redirecting my creative flow from my role within Training and Personal Development at ITV, to a full time, home based artist/maker.
I enjoy making art from found objects, using textiles and mixed media. I love to create art by hand, with depth and mystery, taking the viewer into their own imagination and interpretation of my work.
