Cat, a watercolour artist based in Ilkley, began her artistic journey with studies in Fine Art at Batley College of Art and Design. However, much of her knowledge comes from personal experimentation and continuous practice. Cat is fortunate to have a home studio with a view extending to her garden and the captivating moors beyond, shared with her pet birds and occasionally her son.

Her artistic creations span a wide range, including landscapes, animals, birds, plants, and abstract pieces. The landscapes and wildlife of Ilkley serve as an endless source of inspiration. In her abstract works, Cat explores nature's seemingly random appearance, revealing an underlying foundation of structure, mathematics, and science. These pieces feature elements such as oceans, crystals, geometric patterns, fluid watercolour strokes, and meticulously controlled lines. She has a deep affection for the colour blue, from ocean and sky hues to the unique blue found at the base of open mines, as well as a profound love for green and overgrown plants in old greenhouses.

Cat's preferred mediums are watercolours and inks, with occasional use of acrylics. She is meticulous about the materials she uses, ensuring her work remains lightfast and enduring. As a proud member of Ilkley Arts, she often contributes to exhibitions at the Ilkley Arts Studio and helps organize the yearly pop-up events. Recently, Cat gave a talk at the Manor House on AI Art and Ethics, exploring the interplay between technology and creativity. She also assists with managing social media for Ilkley Arts, helping to promote events and engage with the community.

As a trustee of the Ilkley Arts Charity, Cat is committed to promoting the arts within the community. Beyond her artistic pursuits, she cherishes her small family, maintains a day job, and shares her space with five feathery companions.
