Bridget March

As a visual artist, my work encompasses watercolour, acrylics, graphite, and copper etching. I dedicate myself to creating art daily, with around 6-10 pieces in progress simultaneously, except when other obligations arise.

My art conveys my feelings towards environments, trees, concepts, causes and to narrate stories. I believe in the authenticity of art and eagerly follow where my inspirations lead me. My landscapes have been about about fishing villages, forests and places where the land meets the sea. My abstract pieces revolve around themes of maps, storytelling, and abstract interpretations of science and human relationships. The colours and patterns in the maps reflect my emotions towards urban and rural landscapes.

Recent conceptual pieces draw inspiration from Nikola Tesla's ideas, a Chinese legend, and an image from the James Webb telescope. Enduring influences include Hundertwasser, Klimt, Hockney, and Gunta Stolzl. More recent inspirations come from artists like Peter Doig, Vivienne Westwood, Hurvin Anderson, and select Aboriginal artists from Australia.
