North Yorkshire based, Katrina has been developing her skills in acrylic and mixed media for the last year. Originally a graphite and coloured pencil artist, she has blended her background as an architectural technologist, with a passion for detail, and her love of vibrant colour.
Her work is heavily influenced by contemporary Spanish art, Colour Field painting and the Op Art movement. In particular, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Bridget Riley and Frank Stella. Not wanting to be confined to one genre, Katrina's work can be identified by impasto palette knife strokes with a range of colours designed to stimulate the eye and imagination
