I am a textile artist based in Addingham. After many years of teaching, drawing and painting I moved to working in fabrics several years ago. I make maps of journeys I am familiar with, as well as townscapes, gardens and allotments in hand dyed cotton with calico, quilters wadding with machine and hand embroidery.I enjoy the textures surfaces and patterns fabric and embroidery allows.

I'm influenced and interested in the Yorkshire landscape, moors and Dales as well as the northern east coast and west country coastline. Colour is important to me as is the simplicity folk art and the simplicity of children's drawings have influenced my style and the work is full of quirky and personal details. The images are as a result of many sketches and observations and the larger pieces take many days to complete, every piece is unique and based on real places even though colours and positions may change. I have shown and sold work in many venues.
