This practical, hands-on drawing workshop explores some of the ‘tricks of the trade’ involved in capturing a likeness. Andy James will guide participants through the technical and psychological challenges of drawing faces — particularly the difficulty of reproducing something we think we already know so well.

Through a series of guided exercises, participants will build up a collection of sketchbook studies and more resolved drawings, using a range of drawing materials. The session is suitable for all levels and encourages experimentation, observation, and confidence in mark-making.
